Oklahoma senator issues warning for military members
MIDWEST CITY, OK — An Oklahoma senator is warning members of the military that jobs at Tinker Air Force Base are about to be impacted by decisions in Washington.
In a statement Wednesday, Sen. Jim Inhofe warned that defense cuts could have a big impact on military jobs in Oklahoma.
Sen. Inhofe said up to 16,000 civilian employees at Tinker would face a furlough situation, along with thousands of others at other bases across the state.
The cuts would also impact equipment and maintenance at all facilities.
Sen. Inhofe is a ranking member of the Armed Services Committee.
