ENID, OK — A travelling version of the Vietnam Memorial Wall will soon be placed on permanent display in Enid. Travelling Vietnam Memorial Wall Project co-chair Dan Ohnesorge said the wall will eventually be placed near the Wall of Honor at Woodring Regional Airport.
“The owner who is selling this to us told us he would not sell one to another community within about 250 miles of Enid,” Ohnesorge told KTOK. “So, that will set us apart, unique.”
Ohnesorge said the wall will be received during a ceremony at 12:30 Friday afternoon, at Enid’s Convention Hall.
He said the wall will be set on permanent display in about three months.
Oklahoma has the second-highest number of names on the Vietnam Memorial Wall. Sixteen are from Enid.
