Town without running water
KONAWA, OK – The city of Konawa is without running water and officials believe it could take days to fix. The water went out early Monday morning.
Mayor Virginia Simms said they have had a history of problems with the well water system in Konawa.
“Two years ago we were without water for five days and last year I think we were without water for two days,” Mayor Simms said. “So yes, we do have a water problem. We are aware of the water problem Konawa has.”
Work crews will be out Tuesday trying to fix the problem.
Until then, the city will give out bottled water at city hall.
Police are also delivering water to seniors in the area.
